Good question. If anyone else wants to help me answer this, please feel free to jump in!
I’d set up your appointments as soon as you get your packet so that you can jump in and get them done ASAP!
The dental exam, for me, was the easiest. It was just a full set of X-Rays and a cleaning. The doctor exam, not so much. MAKE SURE THEY CHECK/SIGN EVERYTHING. I had to go to my doctor’s office 4 times in one week about a test result that they never got (frustrating to say the least).
Just check and double check everything on your papers before you send everything in. Once you do, it can take a few weeks before the Office of Medical Services actually receives your packet because of all the clearance it has to go thru. After that, just get ready to wait.
I was nominated on May 5th for Jan 2012. I got my packet on May 23rd. I sent everything in on July 2nd. I got my medical clearance on September 14th.
The time ranges for everyone, but just so you have an idea on my timeline. Best of luck!
